It is imperative that you avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. This is a must, and no exceptions will be made.
Avoid applying self-tanner for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid aspirin and Ibuprofen for one week prior to your treatment. Inform your practitioner if you are taking blood thinners or regularly take aspirin or ibuprofen.
Do not apply your own numbing cream to the area prior to treatment. Your practitioner will apply this using an appropriate level of numbing agent. Let your practitioner know well before your treatment, if you are allergic to lidocaine.
Avoid alcohol for 2 days prior to treatment.
Inform the practitioner if you have taken Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year.
Store ice in a tray or ice packs in your freezer at home for use after your procedure.

Advise your Practitioner if you have trouble accessing and completing this.
Do not wear heavy, hard-to-remove make-up to your treatment session.
Don’t wear clothing restricting access to the treatment area like turtlenecks, high collars, for treating face and neck.
What To Expect on The Day of Your Treatment?
Prior to your appointment session, you would have completed your online consent and agreed that all your questions have been answered. Your practitioner cannot proceed until this is complete. Please advise your practitioner before your treatment session if any circumstances agreed in your consent document have changed.
Although we do ask that you do not present with heavy, hard to remove make up, light makeup and or sunscreen is fine. On your arrival, we will thoroughly clean your skin in the treatment area.
After a light cleanse, we take clinical diagnostic photographs to assess your skin condition, customise treatment protocols and record your rejuvenation journey.
Not all patients need topical anaesthetic cream, but we do recommend this for patients who want more comfort during the procedure.
Your practitioner will discuss the outcomes from different treatment levels and check this against your personal comfort and tolerance levels.
You will be given special goggles or eye pads to protect your eyes during treatment.
Your Saphira Laser Specialist will then gently roll the laser’s tip over the treatment area on your face, neck, or other designated treatment areas using the appropriate energy level.
The feeling is not painful with most clients tolerating the feeling of gently prickly warmth over the treated area. Your practitioner will adjust the settings to suit your tolerance.
After the laser has accomplished its mission, your Saphira Laser Specialist will apply a cold compress and topical healing cream to soothe your skin and begin the healing process.
This topical healing application should not be removed until the following morning.
The whole procedure including application of topical anaesthetic takes about 1 hour.
